When asked by WA's Head Of Events And Marketing, the organizer of the Berlin Open Archery was informed that there will no longer be an "Open Indoor World Series" in WA from this season. Only the five events registered on the WA calendar count as IWS events.
As organizers of the Berlin Open, we are very sad about the situation, but we have to accept it.
Due to various misunderstandings and poor communication between the WA and the Berlin Open team at the Berlin Open last year, it was unfortunately not possible to include the points gained into the WA Indoor Open Ranking of the last year.
The main reason for the problems was that we didn't ask for the World Archery ID, the National ID and the date of birth when registering for the Berlin Open 2021. We have adapted the form for registration this year in this regard.
We ask all participants in the Berlin Open to enter their date of birth, WA ID and National ID when registering. If competitors does NOT enter this information in the registration form, their results at the Berlin Open Archery 2022 will not be reported to the WA for entry into the Indoor World Series.
We are happy to announce that the Berlin Open 2022 will be held. Please reserve the period from December 16th to 18th for your participation. The venue is the one known from previous years, the Horst-Korber-Sports Center not far from the Olympic Stadium.
From now on you can register for your participation in this year's edition. In this context, we offer you something new this year. Those who book their starting place early should be rewarded and therefore pay a reduced entry fee. The following scale is provided in this regard

For the 2021 edition of the Berlin Open, the tournament was listed as an official tournament of the World Archery Indoor Open Series.
Participants in the Berlin Open 2021 could have scored points for the Open Ranking by participating. We wanted to take the next step in the development of the Berlin Open and make this tournament even more attractive.
Due to various misunderstandings and unsuccessful communication between the WA and the Berlin Open team, it was unfortunately not possible to include the points gained in the WA Indoor Open Ranking. In the hustle and bustle of the other World Series events in Nimes and Vegas, there was no chance of finding a valid solution.
We ask for your understanding from all participants who expected to receive the points for the open ranking. Together with the WA, we have already prepared the necessary steps so that the points won can be taken over for the 2022 edition of the Berlin Open Archery!
